I am using the Ubuntu Operating System (12.04 to be precise) in my personal computer and am quite happy with its performance and functionality. Ubuntu is distributed as open source software and is based on the Debian Linux distribution.
Ubuntu incorporates numerous software packages and the best part is that most of them are distributed for free. Only a few hardware drivers are available as the paid versions. Most of the software uses the free General Public License (GNU) which declares that the Ubuntu software is free to get, copy, and change and to develop.
Besides of providing so many good and free features, the popularity of Ubuntu is falling down day-by-day and the reason could be the new unity interface of the operating system.
However I am here to talk about the System Cleaners for Ubuntu Linux 12.04. I have enlisted these system cleaners according to my own experience and I hope my readers would definitely agree with my opinion-
The first system cleaner I would like to discuss about is- K4DirStat. This system is also termed as KDE4 directory statistics at times. It is a small program designed for Linux operating system which sums up the disk usage in the system and the FTP servers as well. It provides an easily configurable cleanup process.
GTK Orphan is the next one in my list. I consider it as one of the best cleanup tools for the Ubuntu Linux system. This tool also peek through the orphaned files stored somewhere in your operating system. I have used it personally and trust me I loved its straightforward interface.
Coming up to the next one, Bleachbit, now this is my favorite tool for cleaning up my Ubuntu Linux Operating System. I like this tool the most as it guard my privacy along with cleaning up the disk space in my system. This tool clears history, cookies, cache, temp files, both shared and stored. All the unwanted junk files are easily removed if you are using Bleachbit.
I can keep Bleachbit in the level of CCleaner actually. As CCleaner is considered the best for computer systems running on Windows, so is Bleachbit for the systems running on Ubuntu. The latest version of Bleachbit is coming with some excellent features which include whipping the free space in the disk and to shredding of files.
The next one I prefer as the system cleaner for Ubuntu Operating System is Computer Janitor. It is one of the simplest cleaning utilities I have ever come up with. The only glitch in this cleaner is that it never explain the user what it is actually doing. Computer Janitor removes the basic software packages found useless in the computer system.
GConf is the last and fifth one I would like to share with you. This tool particularly cleans up the GConf database stored in your system. All the avoidable and messy keys are also cleared with this tool. It scans the database thoroughly and picks out the keys which are not used for any purpose I the system. The best part is that this tool allows the user to keep the backup before deleting the keys permanently from the system.
The above mentioned system cleaners for Ubuntu Operating System are lined up randomly. I would certainly like to know if you have some more in your lists.
